About Us

Sunrock has been part of our family since 1986, when Spyros first began welcoming travellers to this little corner of Corfu. What started as a family home has grown over the years, but the heart of Sunrock has remained much the same.

Today, a new generation of our family is taking care of Sunrock, bringing fresh ideas while holding on to the warmth, traditions and personal hospitality we grew up with. We’re not trying to be a polished resort – we want Sunrock to feel genuine, relaxed and unmistakably Corfiot.

There’s much more to Corfu than its beaches. Known for its green hills, olive groves, traditional villages and Venetian history, the island is made for exploring – and after growing up here, there are still places we never get tired of visiting.

  • Explore the island – Rent a scooter, quad, bike or car and discover Corfu at your own pace. We work with trusted local rental companies who can deliver and collect your vehicle directly at Sunrock, or you’re welcome to arrange your own transport.
  • Visit Corfu Town – Wander through the narrow streets of the UNESCO-listed Old Town, explore the Venetian architecture, stop for a coffee in one of the squares and stay into the evening when the town really comes alive. We can also help arrange transport to and from town.
  • Paxos & Antipaxos – Take a day trip across the Ionian Sea to the neighbouring islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, known for their clear blue water, sea caves and small harbours. According to Greek mythology, Poseidon created Paxos as a peaceful retreat for himself and Amphitrite.
  • Ask us where to go – Some of the best parts of Corfu aren’t necessarily the places you’ll find first online. If you’re looking for a beach, village, viewpoint, taverna or somewhere to spend the day, just ask us – we’re always happy to point you in the right direction.

Explore Corfu

Some of the best days in Corfu are the ones you don’t plan too much. Sunrock sits above Pelekas Beach on the west coast, surrounded by sea, green hills and small villages. Take your time, explore what’s around you and enjoy the slower side of island life.

  • Pelekas Beach – Spend the day swimming, snorkelling or simply finding a spot on the sand and doing very little at all. Stay until evening and you’ll understand why we love this side of the island so much.
  • Paragliding over Pelekas – See the west coast from above with a tandem paragliding flight, soaring over the hills before landing down on Pelekas Beach. Definitely one for the adventurous.
  • Pelekas Village & Kaiser’s Throne – Head up into the village for traditional tavernas, little streets and a more local side of Corfu. Continue to Kaiser’s Throne for one of the best panoramic viewpoints on the island, particularly around sunset.
  • Discover Paleokastritsa – We can arrange transfers to Paleokastritsa, where you can spend the day exploring its bays, beaches and dramatic coastline. Swim, take a small boat out to hidden coves and sea caves, or stop at places like La Grotta along the way.
  • Corfu Town – Fancy a change from beach life? We can arrange a transfer into Corfu Town for the day or evening. Wander through the UNESCO-listed Old Town, explore the narrow streets, have dinner or drinks and soak up a completely different side of the island.
  • Get out on the water – Boat trips are one of the best ways to experience Corfu. Explore secluded beaches and coves along the coastline or make a day of it with a trip further afield.

  • Steps from Pelekas Beach – The beach is just a short walk downhill from Sunrock, reached via a public path through the natural surroundings. The path is not maintained by Sunrock, so we recommend suitable footwear. Once there, it’s the perfect spot for swimming, snorkelling and long, lazy days by the sea.
